Death Valley, Iraq
In the valley of death.
What is the value of one life?
Bullets, bombs, nuclear weapons don’t ask for your place of birth or
your religion. Color, race or region. Tooling countries for war.
Doesn’t lead to peace.
The Patriot mission can stop death for a moment.
Who do we blame when there is nothing left but a Mad Max world?

I guess we, us, ex-soldiers must be a little nutty. Why the hell did I enlist in the army(for money and adventure) if you know that armies have never meant to be for peace, army by defenition is used for one purpose and it´s to fight wars. I made peace with that, unfortunately.

Wasn’t for the money. For the adventure I believe.

These my my pictures. I took them a month after the battle. My unit was on the border of Iraq. A water and re-fuel point. Me and my camera took many pictures from the helicopters.. The Patriot photo was a gift from a friend.

U are right when u said that those who desire war they are always working for their goals and profit.
It is all about business.
There is a quote I always remember it by Jimi Hendrix it says:
When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Hendrix told the truth. Nothing had changed.

John, I was there. I was ready to be angry about your post when I saw the picture and before I saw it was you. I set tired of people running down soldiers and though this would be that, but it wasn’t. I was a huge fan of Gen Powell during all of this. I don’t think anyone fought harder for a political solution on this than he did since he had seen war. I am in Germany at the moment and when I think that 60 years ago we fought these good people it seems so odd. Especially when you see how awesome they are. But then there was an exceptional evil to be put down. The issues are complex but I agree. War is an ugly thing and the ones we are in now baffle me.

I was on the border of Iraq for one year. Death Valley was a mess. Took my unit and other units almost a year to clean-up. The war machine is different today. Soldiers are used for clean-up. Our Air Force put the Iraq army out of business in a ten minute battle. Thank you for stopping by and reading.

I spent that time hunting for WMDs and scuds. I flew over all of that after it happened and pictures cant do it justice. Some people see those pictures and have not idea how wide or how long they go. Our pilots stopped one day maybe a week after all the shooting was done and we got out and looked around, like a bazar rest stop on our want to another scud hunt. It was macob and it stunk and it mad me nervous. Welcome home
