Deny love

“How could I love you the wrong way?
How could this be wrong?
Your smile brings me joy, your eyes dazzle me.
When all turned in this direction?” Sarah ~ Lady Idriel
The rapture of unspoken words left me empty.
I saw her often during the warm days of July. Dressed in her beautiful colorful Summer dresses and
waiting for me by the lake and writing poetry.
I found her shattered and with tears sitting alone in late June by the peaceful lake. I asked you. Why is a woman so sad on a warm Summer day? You should be enjoying the beautiful days of June. Sweet Sarah smiled and told me. I’m sad and miss my home and dear friends. Love had betrayed me. I have traveled to London and I have learn love had abandoned me. I sat down with her and I told her. I’m sorry for your sadness. Sometime good to write down your emotions. I gave her my extra new journal I bought today. She told me. I cannot accept the journal.
I told her I have 40 more journals. She gave me a hollow smile and she thanked me. I rose up to leave and she asked me. Do you write?
I told her my name is Johnnie. Part-time poet and part-time soldier. I do write. She raised her gentle and sad blue eyes and she told me. I’m Sarah, part-time student and part-time worker. Please sit with me. I could use some good company. She watched the lake and requested me to recite some poetry. Pretend you are Hyde Park Poet trying to heal and steal my heart.
I recited her two poem free style.
-Deny love
We open doors that were locked.
Allowing forsaken names to leave us be-withered and alone.
Delicate lady waiting by the silent lake.
Her gentle heart had slipped away to be found another day.
She wait for no-one and wanted someone to tell her.
She will be okay.
The splendor of you
I waited by the lake for you.
I yearned to watch you walk toward me.
I loved your Summer dresses, auburn hair and your eyes of river blue to
weaken my will and dazzle my soul.
You bathe me in sweet words and your laughter made me forget the pain
of yesterday.
The splendor of your beauty and kind eyes. Made me forget.
Love had deny me yesterday and today I’m drifting in the sweet emotion
and the dance of kind and tender love.—
She smiled and then she laughed at me. She told me. You are a Poet. You made me laugh today. Do you
drink coffee? And do have time to spend with a person with too many obligations and who is crumbling to her own self pity?
I told her. Love isn’t fair. It is a mockery for us to believe love is always true and honest. I would be honored to
drink some coffee with you. You can be my muse and I can be your friend.

Thank you Tanveer. Old age and distance make pain and sadness less painful.
