Please Give me Birth, My Mom
A Poem by M.A.Rathore
Girl-child is being considered a blight still in some parts of the world.

Was the day,
When I got the news
Of my daughter’s lay.
On her birth
As she wept in a cry,
To tell me her arrival
In a voice high.
Though I had
A son before,
My limits of pleasure
Knew no bounds more.
Wandering in search of
A daughter’s love,
I found it in
The nest of my dove.
Blessings of thousands
I got from
God, The day I never forget
A nice daughter upload.
It was Karishma
My daughter’s name,
I was a father dear
Around with my fame.
Its not a curse
To have a daughter nice,
Equally she will
Regard me thrice.
To have a daughter
For me is a boon,
With my son she will
Travel to the moon.
Bless your daughter
Bless your son,
In the life of success
Both will run.
Behave equally
As they need,
Both should be nurtured
And close they heed.
Lest the land should
Become without girls,
You should till your house
With these pearls.
