I visited the Vietnam Memorial in 1995. I left a pebble I had from the Gettysburg battlefield there. 5 fellows of the graduating class of ’67 at my North Miami High did not return from there. I was in Army ROTC two years and almost went career army like some of my frat brothers but instead was American history teacher for 33 years.
The Vietnam Memorial. Make us think. I was in the First Cav. Division. At Fort Hood. At the First Cav. church. Name of soldiers lost to war. Make you understand. Freedom is very costly and worthwhile. We must hold freedom close and never lose her.
