Sacred Scars
Amazing poetry by a talented writer. Please read and enjoy.
Beautiful liars have come to my tree to bow under the shade of my loving leaves
Kneeling and worshipping at my feet
They come offering communion,
inviting me to drink of wine from their cups
But these sacred scars I clutch to my chest like pearls on a thin strand of string
They’re priceless,
earned by the sting of all the heartache of beautiful liars
sacred scars
I carry my burdens,
dragging my cross down streets by those beautiful liars
Withered and distressed like worn out wood,
there is a beauty in these scared scars
These feet and hands, have no wounds,
but this heart holds every splinter of lies told
Valuable lessons learned of a once foolish heart
Sacred Scars
