Sonnet: Naked in the Sun
Amazing work by a talented writer.
*****
Unclad are lovely maidens carved in stone
When posed as statuary on the lawn
Grouped gracefully, or standing each alone
Their charms exposed for all to gaze upon
The Muses’ robes seem naught but flowing veils
At times the Graces even these forsake!
Old ships’ uncovered maidens braved the gales
And saw their crewmen safe at dawn’s sweet break
Too, naked women grace the works of art
Of all the cultures close to Mother Earth —
The message that these breasts have to impart
Is one of beauty, one of human worth
And yet the modern woman is undone
Who goes but one time naked in the sun
