The Poet and the Muse
Wonderful poetry by a talented writer.

~ The Poet and the Muse ~
The poet’s love waits, beneath the willow
where hope floats and dreams dance
if only the muse could know
the muse enters, and whispers ‘hello’
suddenly shy, casting a furtive glance,
the poet’s love waits beneath the willow
playing it cool, and taking it slow
the poet worries at blowing the chance
if only the muse could know
Lament or extol, how would it go?
who makes the first advance?
the poet’s love waits, beneath the willow
so many words to bestow
awed, the poet lost in a trance,
if only the muse could know
scenarios rain down, possibilities grow
poised on the verge of romance
the poet’s love waits, beneath the willow
if only the muse could know.

We need our muses, even the sirens. Thank you for reading and the comment.
