Half as much

(Danil Gerhatz……With love, thank you for the artwork)
(I found hidden poetry in my father’s office. He passed last month. I don’t know who wrote. Just posting the work of a secret poet.)
Half as much
If you love me half as I love you.
You wouldn’t worry me half as much as you do.
You’re nice to me when there’s no-one else around,
you only built me up to let me down.
If you miss me half as much as I miss you.
You wouldn’t stay away as much as you do.
I know that I would never be this blue,
if you loved me half as much as I love you.
Writer unknown
This sounds vaguely familiar. I wonder if it was part of a song.

It maybe could be part of a song. Was hidden away in a corner. Written sometime around 1958.

You are right. A Hank William senior song. A beautiful song.

Thank you for the reblogged. I found 500 poems hidden in a corner in my father’s office. I believe a woman wrote. Had the woman touch. I was told. His first wife was very smart and I believe she was. No name attached to the poetry anywhere.
