Little Farmhouse
Little farmhouse, Out in the pastures and fields Where the bumblebees float and buzz, and the chickens flap their wings, Where the dogs roam and chase after rabbits and the cats lie in sun patches on the porch Where the deer gallop and stand atop the hills and the blueberries and wildflowers grow as the children wander through them Little farmhouse, Hidden in the trees and winding country roads Where I spent my summer days wading through creeks And my summer nights catching fireflies Little farmhouse, Sitting in sun beams Where we climbed trees and dived into piles of dirt Where we smelled the aroma of sweet honey in the breeze Where we searched for mythical creatures in the woods Where we caught tadpoles, frogs, fish, lizards, and bugs…
