A immortal love once…
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
When love is near. Be kind and thankful. ![]()
I had a immortal love once…
I told the whiskey glass. The worst sin done, is something we wanted to do and we didn’t do. Most of us learn too late. Words can kill off friendships. Better to hold silence when anger steal our mind, our words.
What will we remember? I believe we will remember the sweet kisses of a pretty and kind gal, the laughter of children and the voices of the people, we loved.
In Texas, I was Doc Holiday. In California, I was Bukowski and in Michigan. I am the grandfather, quiet writer and seeking less. What will I be tomorrow?
I wrote to a notebook. I didn’t know kisses could kill you. My once rebellious heart had learn. Lovely and kind girls cannot be forgotten. They are tattoos on your mind and heart forever.
I had a immortal love once. Her champagne voice stole my thoughts, her charm made me wish for one more kiss and to look into the folly of her eyes again and again. She made me see the sea and the beauty of life near.
She was a Pacific mermaid and she loved to put flowers in her hair. She was a wild cat who loved doing things her way. Her rebellious mind made me adore her more. She loved wanderlust, free days and she hated locked doors. She was endless mystery and a delight to my heart.
I loved the rustic woman who loved her herbal garden, her morning coffee and six o’clock walks on the beach. She didn’t want everything and she told me often. All we need is some good books to read, strong coffee and wonderful songs to listen to. My home is big enough for us. I have a comfortable bed, room for two. The sea is near and I will keep you safe.
I left the kind lady for war and I never returned to her. Now the old man told the whiskey glass. You will regret what wasn’t said or done.
