A slash through the spirit

Aching in the body of water

Frothy waves slamming into the rocky rapids

The sadness followed the alcohol

Enough to make us lose our balance

The moon out of place

Perched atop a row of mountain ash

My heart is the bottom of a lake

Sinking in the light

My heart is a crystal cave

A bird of loneliness

Singing songs of endless hopelessness

A patch of grass on a well worn path

I am nothing but a shadow.
