My singing nightingale.. And a amazing Neil Diamond song.
1- Merrily, merrily, we shall go.
We will freely escape,
seeking the sun,
seeking the sea.
We may find love?
We may hear the Nightingale song?
We may find the Pacific?
We may find peace?
2- He was blinded by war.
Now he was seeking the California mermaids.
Once, in a sweet dream.
He forgot yesterday and he found today.
A pretty California mermaid held his hands and
she told him.
My kiss could be fatal or a spell to clear your mind.
She asked me. If you forget everything.
what do you become?
3- She mimic a sweet lady of the sea and
she mimic a woman wanting a place to rest.
She spoke soft and gentle words and
she was neither sweet or kind.
I knew she was just a Siren and
wanting to devour a innocence man.
I told her. I am dirty with sin and I am dirty with hate.
My soul, so damn black. The Devil rejected me in Santa Cruz.
She smiled at me and she watched the stormy Pacific.
She turned to me and she whispered to me.
I love the taste of bitterness,
I love the taste of sin and
I love the taste of whiskey on your lips.
Maybe, you and me.
Just taking enough and
waiting for the end?
Please dear soldier.
Please allow to keep you company.

Very nicely written. I like the mermaid/Siren. Neil Diamond is excellent. I love the song.

Great song. I don’t know of a Neil Diamond song I don’t like.

I liked him more today than yesterday. We had the great music when we were young and we didn’t know how good it was. Thank you for reading and the comment.

Yes, we did, John. Most of todays music all sounds the same, like it came out of a can.

I agree. There a few good singers. I like the real singers, who can play a guitar and sing their songs. My new favorite is Natt Dreddd. A Scottish gal with a beautiful voice.
