A Monterey night..

A Monterey night..

A Poem by Coyote Poetry

" I need a year in Monterey. I would write the great novel and never complain. "

1- Moonlight kiss..

Tonight I need,

a midnight kiss,

a moonlight dance with a pretty gal.

And the sea is whispering a lovely lullaby

of a story to be written.

2- Mistress night..

A warm Monterey night and

we can hear the song from the city pubs near the sea.

He loved the Monterey, mistress nights.

He told the Pacific Ocean,

I adore the Winter night by the great ocean.

The cloudless sky allowed the million star to light up the sky.

Thank you Goddess of the sea for allowing me to be with you.

He loved the mermaids of the Monterey nights,

they would leave the taverns filled-up with the whiskey and the gin.

They would go to the sea,

toss off their shoes and run toward the waves.

They lift their dresses above their knees and

allow the cold Winter sea to touch their skin.

He was told, the women were,

witches and mermaids, they were not safe to be near.

He could be overtook by a spell and

he told the naysayers.

Maybe witches, maybe mermaids?

And they are kind to me. A soldier surrounded by ugliness.

They held his hands and they told him.

Brave soldier, come with us into the sea.

We will dance with the great storms and

we will see the moon and the sun kiss.

Yesterday had left us and we must create a new story.

Where the brave soldier danced with the Monterey mermaids and

he learn to laugh again.

He followed them to the sea and the coldness of the water.

Awoke his eyes, awoke his laughter.

The three mermaid danced with the soldier and

he told the night.

Thank you.
