The sea, the wishes…

The sea, the wishes..

Lovely poet measured him with her gentle blue eyes and she watched how he spoke the words. She listened to his words and she adored the Monterey Dark Poet for eight months. He led the poetry reading, always kind to every poet for one year at the Monterey Coffee shop. He would run the Poetry reading and he would read the last poem than he would escape into the night, never to be found in the city of Monterey.
And tonight she captured his attention. She stole the dark Poet eyes and his thoughts. She read her poem for him.
“In the mist of today, you did not see me.
In the mist of tonight, I will make you see me.
Please ancient poet with the oldest eyes, I ever seen.
Please see me, please take my hands and let’s find the Monterey Bay.
Let’s us create a lullaby to be written, where love can win.
Please dark Poet, time is never kind or generous for people, who can see everything.
Please come with me, please see me and please dance with me near the Pacific.
And make me your love.”
Everyone clapped for her poetry and she smiled at the Dark Poet.
She saw the Dark Poet staring at her face and she wondered, did he listen?
Did he understand?
She sat alone after the poetry reading, drinking her coffee slowly.
Someone sat with her and she saw the Dark Poet looking at her.
He told her, beautiful Veronica, I loved every word of your poem and
I have adored you since you arrived in the Winter at the Poetry reading.
She smiled and she took his hands and she told him.
Tonight a clear night in Monterey and you cannot run from me tonight.
I have a bottle of sweet red wine, no place to be for three days and
a warm Monterey night. Let’s escape the city and we can walk from the city on the Monterey Bay, find a quiet place and you can hold me. I will tell you some great tales and you can read your words to me. Maybe we can dance for the song of the sea.
The Dark Poet kissed her hands and he told her. My name is Johnnie and dear Veronica. I would be honored to be with you. Thank you sweet lady for being kind to me.
