Drink before the war..

Drink before the war..

1- Ben Jonson, ‘To Celia’.
Drink to me only with thine eyes,
And I will pledge with mine;
Or leave a kiss but in the cup,
And I’ll not look for wine.
The thirst that from the soul doth rise
Doth ask a drink divine;
But might I of Jove’s nectar sup,
I would not change for thine …

2-Yeats, ‘A Drinking Song’.
Wine comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That’s all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die …

3- He obstinate from conversation. Now he sit alone and he drinks for many people. He want emptiness, to forget.
He sought, whiskey and the pretty gals once.
Damn war, the damn world left him feeling helpless.
We killed children, we destroyed cities and the fat men in Washington D.C, they make excuses.
He raised a finger of whiskey to the sky. And he told the night. Please Odin,
Please keep the whiskey warm and coming to us.
The soldier prayer, we do.
“Ares, please remember us.
We love the song,
we love the drink and
we love the pretty gals.
Please keep the whiskey strong and
please accept our fallen brothers into Valhalla.
One day, us old soldiers who survived the wars.
Need places to rest, a place to forget war.
We do get tired Ares.
Lets drink some more and pray.
We can live another day.”
