Ghost and shadows…

" Part two… "

                      Ghost and shadows…

Johnnie sat with Tanya. He loved seeing her face, the fire and great storms in her eyes make him believe. Life was more than him. Life could be everything and more. Her wild eyes reminded him of the great California storms and the dangerous sea. She gave him his coffee and she asked. You wrote all night again? I see the weariness in your eyes. He smiled and he told her. I wrote poetry for my favorite things. The Spring days, the lake Huron and you. She laughed at his words and she told him. If you me so much. Why do you leave our bed at one am to write every night to write. I get cold and lonely in our large bed without you.

He kissed her softly and he told her. My dreams, my damn dreams. I write in my dreams, story and poetry spilling into my dreams dear Tanya. I must write them, ASAP. Or they would become lost and forgotten. She looked at Port Austin and she smiled. She took his hand and she told him.

“You found me in the Port Austin tavern in early January sitting alone and looking sad. You bought me a drink and you told me. We love to lie and to weep, we love to steal and borrow. We will accept less when we should accept more. You stole my mind and heart that second. You told me. In the eyes of a woman. You can see a thousand journeys. When a woman eyes are warm, her darkness forgotten. Maybe she will show you her tender soul, share soft words with you and allow you into her heart.

I laughed at your words and I hugged my drink. You told her. You never know who is the devil? He can appear as a tender caress and he can steal your soul. I laughed at your words and I asked. Do you believe I am the devil? He smiled and he told her. The devil can be woman or man. They are wise and they know trickery. Make you believe in everything and they will leave you with nothing. Maybe our lack of boldness, maybe our lack of hope. Is the devil’s kiss? She smiled and she told you. You speak to me without knowing me. What is your name? He told her, Johnnie the hiding poet. Seeking peace in the cold days of Winter in Port Austin. Who are you pretty lady? You took my hand and you told me, my name is Tanya. I am seeking peace in the whiskey, the quiet of Port Austin. Painting the cold lake. You told me. Your name, a goddess name. The goddess who sought reason and purpose. Finding emptiness only. I looked hard into your eyes and I asked you. Am I seeking reason and purpose Johnnie? You ordered a double shot of the Black Velvet and you told me. We must bleed out to know happiness again. No easy roads, no easy life.”

I remember you would watch me paint in my small studio in the Wintery days and I requested to paint your face. You asked me. If you paint my face to canvas, will I become Dorian Gray? Will I live forever? You told me. The devil touch, I do not have. We meet every morning and we talk. Who will write this story? About you and me, will our words dispersed into the Lake Huron? He reached over and he kissed her forehead, her face-cheeks and her lips. He told her. I was seeking the nightingale when I met you in the tavern. My tire mind, my weary heart wanted to give-in, give-up. You made me smile and wish. You laughter and sweet voice made me forget my sadness. Remember we drank a whole bottle of the Black Velvet, got naked and we danced to the Elvis songs till the daylight overtook the night. I knew you were a blessing, I prayed you liked me. She smiled and she remembered, they didn’t make love. He held her like she was his first love.  He told her that night. You will be my great love.

Ghost and shadows- chapter three

A Chapter by Coyote Poetry

" Chapter three.. "

                     Ghost and shadows- part three…

She laughed at his words. Am I your great love still? He told her. Love can be fleeting, love can careless, love can be holy. When we are young. We are just dancers upon the earth seeking things to make us happy.  We will love often and we will have one great love. I drove to Port Austin in January and I wanted to drink myself to death. The Goddess of kind Lake Huron brought you to me. I found you sitting alone, praying into your drink. I prayed for a kind woman for many years. I believed love had forsaken me. I remember you talks about your artwork, Lake Huron and I loved how your eyes danced with excitement. I knew I was blessed to be in them.

Tanya smiled and she told him. I thought I would be alone till death. I forgot love and your words and laughter, made me remember love. No-one wants wants a woman who love to paint, the quiet places and not to be captured. Like the Raven on my back, I love wall-less places, un-locked doors and long conservations. You opened me up to things I forgot. I remember you told me. Beautiful Tanya, my beloved. We must rid ourselves of ugly attitudes, the naysayers and the big cities. Let’s us stay in Port Austin. You and me. You can paint Port Austin, the Lake St. Huron and the rocky beaches. I will write the great novel.

He smiled and he told her. We talk every morning, drink the strong coffee for five months. We walk the Lake Huron break wall, twice daily. Are you tire of me yet? He kissed her hands and he told her. We have saw too much, allowed our hearts to be corrupted. And in your eyes dear Tanya. I feel young and hopeful. You are my great love.

She smiled and they stood-up and they walked to the two mile break wall of Port Austin. She told him. The lake is wild this morning and today will be warm. Hand in hand, two people, once strangers, now friends walked together with hopeful hearts.

Johnnie told the Lake Huron. Thank you for the kind woman who love to dance with the sun and the moon.
