Dark eyed Angel who lost her wings.

Dark Eyes Angel who losts her wing.
(I was still roaming the country. The days when time wasn’t a concern. May 1994. Writing and reading poetry brought me the confused and lost woman. Her beauty brought me to her. Her heart was cold as the frozen ice. I wanted nothing and one Poet/ dancer allow me in for a time. To sweet Angela. I hope she found peace.)
I watched her from a distance.
The music is low and sweet.
Bob Seger Against the wind is playing.
She sings with the music,
her voice trying to fall into the words.
She moved her body.
Slowly disrobe and
desperate men waited to see your perfect body.
The movement is times, organized and controlled.
She could pull a man into your web,
with the easiness of a soft kitten.
Her eyes didn’t hide the truth.
When I look into them, they make me feel cold.
Her body is a gift with a payment.
When she worked.
I don’t try to talk to her,
I’m afraid to touch you.
At our apartment.
She put on the Leonard Cohen and
she danced alone in the darkness.
Black skirt and tight black t-sheet showing erect nipples.
She comes to me.
Sit between my legs and
looked into my eyes.
She wrapped her arms around me and she told me
You feel safe with me.
I don’t want love,
only passion and kindness for a time.
She laid with me on our soft bed and
I read old poetry to her.
Her nude body I caressed slowly and gently.
I whispered words of sweet dreams and story of possibilities.
I hold her close when she twists and turn fighting hidden demons in the night.
The money is good.
She never misses work.
She dances five days a week and never allows anyone into her heart or her soul.
Men sit alone in the club.
Wishing to touch your flesh.
They don’t know the payment.
I danced the twisted movement of the woman with the eyes of no pity.
Their anger and pain can overtake you.
Dark eyes Angel who lost her wings.
I left her with tears.
She told me.
Never expose your true emotion.
We are just waiting for the walls around us to cave in.
I told her.
Thank you for the dance and if you find peace.
You can find me in California.
