Alisa Fineman-A safe place to go
A safe place to go
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
Alisa Fineman. A California coastline folk singer. A woman with a beautiful voice and kind heart.
A safe place to go
I’m dreaming of Big Sur.
I’m wanting to be at the River Inn.
Listening to good music and drinking the good wine.
The California coastline saved my life once.
I found a kind woman name Alisa Fineman and many kind people.
Her gentle song and hopeful words make me feel.
I was okay.
She called me the street Poet. An honored name given to me today.
She told me. You are going to be okay Johnnie.
No easy life for anyone. Come sit with me.
She held my hands like an old friend.
Caressed my forehead like a child.
She told me. You can’t hold on to hate. You must know peace.
I followed her show for three years till I departed California.
I helped her unload her gear and found peace in her sweet voice.
She treated me as a friend.
Today I listen to her music.
Her voice take me back to where I learn to laugh again.
Thank you dear Alisa Fineman.
My kind Angel found on the long road.

She saved me in 1992. She is still singing on the California coastline. I hope to see her one more time and thank her for her kindness.

I’m going to look her up on youtube…..is that you in the video, too? I commented on her voice (and hit send!) before I commented on that beautiful male voice, too. Both so good. Reminds me of a singer I knew once upon a time named Didi Rollins from Maine. Way before youtube, of course, but the same soulful/folk lyrics and melodies. Ahh, the best music never makes its way to those big corporate labels (and I say let’s keep it that way!).

No. Her husband I believe. When I last saw her in 1994. They were dating. The local singers can be good. The California coastline had music alive and well. Here in my Detroit. A lot of local talent..
