                             Merry Christmas

A man came to my door. He looked safe. He requested food for the people in  need. I gave him some can goods and I offered some money. He turn down the money and he smiled and he told me a short story.
“Years ago I went house to house looking for kindness.
After 20 houses.
I was rejected 20 times.
I turned and a mother and a daughter brought food and coffee to me.
On the cold street of a Michigan Winter.
I learn.
Still kind people are left.
The little girl asked me because of my long brown hair and kind eyes.
Was I Jesus testing the hearts of people?
I told her.
We shall never know when Jesus will test the heart of man.
He kissed the little girl forehead and held the young mother’s hand.
He told her. You blessed me kindness and concern dear beautiful lady.
You made me believe. Love and kindness are still alive”.

He left me alone deep with my thoughts.

“Love didn’t kill my heart. Love made me know laughter and joy.
I remember dear Grandparent small house filled with love and safety.
I remember dear Grandfather telling me. Lead with kindness and concern. The world is hard enough on the people we love. I remember dear Grandmother telling me. Lead with sugar and honey. Anger doesn’t fix anything.

Today Grandchildren are coming over. I babysit two days weekly. The boys showed me. Love and kindness create a lifetime of happiness. We are what we leave behind. I do my best to teach my grandchildren. Be kind, help each other and don’t hold hate.

Merry Christmas my friends. Do some deeds this Christmas.
Jesus is watching us.
We will never know if the person we turned away.
Was our chance to show Jesus.
Love, concern and kindness is alive and well.

A gift of a smile, a gift of a hello.
A gift of some money if you can.
Can save a day, could save a life.
Have fun and be safe my friends.
I appreciate every one of you.
