To Be a Child Again
Please read and enjoy the work of the talented writer.
We judge too often and hate too much
We lie too often and smile too little
We cry in private and hide our emotions
We don’t think twice before sabotaging someone’s reputation
We are mean and selfish
We only think for ourselves
We believe in showing off
We live an ostensible life
We are grownups
trying to survive in a deviant world
We laugh in abundance and cry when we are hurt
We are friends to all and have a loving heart
We are draped in innocence
We are not labeled as civilized
We call spade a spade
We forget animosity in a trice
We are God’s angel
We are children
And now as grownups,
trying to live a dubious life,
we wish we can be children again
Such is the irony of life
