We forgot where we sit in the food chain.

Thinking we’re on top, kings and queens, claiming ownership

of all the natural world has to offer;

apart from our own actions.

Forgetting the elements holding the key to life,

a simple equation of air and water, miles away from equilibrium now, as we

killed, burned, tortured, poisoned, and abused that which gave us the privilege of time.

We look to God OUR SAVIOUR to put an end to the apocalyptic consequences

of our own greedy choices;

sure that salvation is guaranteed and not just a story told to permit evil

behaviour to breed and incentivise the ugliest unkindnesses.

Lost connection, signal strength waning, battery dying

and I’m not talking about the rectangle sick with socialisation in your hand.

Your sad face reactions to the Amazon burning will not be felt by the indigenous

people or animals or plants whose homes…
