Folly…
Folly
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
Karma, good or bad. We will pay in three-fold.
Folly….
Dead men don’t weep no more,
stagnant life lead to deluded ending,
Pretty things can hide the hidden truth,
nothing gain-nothing lost.
We can ascend and we can fall,
the echoes of today and the echoes of yesterday are what we become,
we can be consumed or be condemned.
The old man logic is. Men will rise and men will fall, we will cry and we shall know laughter. Each of us will walk upon the floor of rice paper, believing we are invincible.
The folly of men is, death will call one day.
We will be the witness to life. Remembering old faces, old words and the good days. Life is lessons. Some lessons written deep and hard into our mind and heart.
I am sixty-three years old and I have learned.
Pay attention to your family and your friends. Lead with concern, kindness and love. The world is hard enough on them already. Kind words and safe place to rest, may save a life.
Insure you make time for the pleasures of life. The children will grow like weeds and we don’t slow down. We will miss the special days and moments. Make time for family meals, family field trips and show your children, how to love the lakes and the sea. Show them the great forest and how to be kind. Be kind to nature and to each other.
Life is our decisions. Know joy, laughter and song or learn too late. Life is too fast and if we blink. We will miss the best part.

Yes, we must! Sometimes uncomfortably, yet it can turn out to be the greatest gift 🎁 🥳

I had something to post on your story about New York, but I can’t. I did try, though.

Hello. Maybe you can post here?

1) It’s possible to miss NYC completely and end up lost in the Bronx.
2) Why do men love Hemingway so much? Is it the soldier thing?
3) PTSD looks very different, and it doesn’t just occur in soldiers. If you want your own name for it, then the Mental Health Professionals need to work on some new terminology.
4) Thanks.

When I was young. I wanted to be like Hemingway. Test life. He did so many things that are forgotten. I believe soldier like Hemingway and most fearless people. Like Salinger told us. Do what you love, doesn’t matter the cost. PTSD, I have seen in many soldiers. I joined in 1976 and the Vietnam soldiers. PTSD is hard to grasp. My father served as a para-trooper in WW2. He saw hell and he never discussed. Some men and women can survive war and forget. I spend three months of weekends in the New York area. I was station at Fort Dix, N.J. three times. I know PTSD happen for other reasons. But war can kill a man or woman hope. Hello and thank you for the questions. The Bronx, I did drink in. When I was young. A bar near. I drank in her,

I think it’s the pared-down prose that appeals to soldiers. No time for florid in times of war.
