Remembering Emily Dickinson…
Dear Emily
I believe, few knew you well dear Emily. Your wrote 1600 poems and left a blank page of understanding of you, for the reader. I believe, you wrote poetry in dreams. You saw yesterday, today and tomorrow.
“Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
And Immortality.”
― Emily Dickinson
“The Heart wants what it wants – or else it does not care”
― Emily Dickinson
They dropped like flakes, they dropped like stars,
Like petals from a rose,
When suddenly across the lune
A wind with fingers goes.
They perished in the seamless grass,–
No eye could find the place;
But God on his repealless list
Can summon every face

I didn’t like the series on Emily Dickinson. She was a educated lady and she knew what she wanted. She wanted quiet life. Her brother would party and she loved her yard and her poetry. Her poetry was so powerful. She had great vision. You are welcome dear Cindy.

It would have been inspiring to meet with Emily Dickinson. I remember hearing that she also kept up active correspondences with other prominent writers from around the same period of time, and that after her relatives hadn’t realized just how many poems she had written until after she passed away–and they had been hidden here and there throughout the house!

The friend and the sister found 1600 poems hidden away. I am glad they found her work. I would love to sit and talk with her also.

She wrote honest and powerful words. Hard to believe. She never left her city. Thank you for stopping by.

they always thought emily to be a lonesome stranger, someone cold and removed from everything. truth is that she was in tune with everything and everyone in her world so finely, and created indeed powerful words, bright strange imagery that can only delight.

I agree. Old world treated women badly. She had years of education and she was told to shut-up. This is sad.
