Old Monterey and Hemingway..
I was looking for my friend Hemingway on the Monterey pier.
They hid him away.
My old eyes found him moved, near the sea on Monterey wharf.
We stood together and we watched the dancing sea.
He told me, thank you for stopping by and remember the Poet by the sea.

I was station in Monterey from 1992-1994. The statue welcomed you to the pier. Some odd reason, they moved it and someone hid in deep corner. Good morning dear Maria.
