Where are the people seeking peace…
1- I found 24 bodies in a river in Bosnian.
Just old people, women and children.
Me and my soldiers body bags them.
They were murders by the hammer.
To save bullets.
We prayed and cried for them.
This is all we could do.
2- In Africa, starvation left dead bodies everywhere.
My soldiers and me.
We collected the body of the dead.
We buried then in mass graves.
Dead bodies will create sickness and disease.
We did pray for them.
3- After Death Valley,
me and many soldiers had to go to Death Valley in Iraq.
We collected 10,000 dead Iraqi soldiers bodies.
Some were in pieces and we gave them.
The mercy killing.
A shot to make their death less painful.
I learn, the Iraqi soldiers.
Just men dying for the hate of another.
4- War, my friend.
No-one will win.

Is it right to say thank you for tears?
For plain words that expose truth about war?
For the disturbance of mind that will follow? Cast shadows over my day.
~
Yes, thank you.
I will not yeild to despair.
Not today or tomorrow.
For somehow your words leave me with hope.
Thank you Coyote.

This brought tears to my eyes. So well written, John. “They were murders by the hammer.
To save bullets.”
If only more people reflected on those words. Wow!

Must be tough to live with those memories. Every war begin in the heart of a man who desires power or wealth. And it never ends. The people seeking peace will be silenced.
Good writing Johnno. 😞

The medics in Africa saved many. I made soft food for the people to eat. We did what we could. And starvation is still killing people today. Thank you Nigel for reading and the comment.
