The sea and the painter.
(April is poetry month. New poetry number sixteen.)
1- She told me on a warm summer day near the Monterey Bay.
I like living alone. It is my kitchen; it is my garden. It my house where I have my books and my music.
I need more friends. Dear Johnnie, I am not broken, I have learned.
Love is a twisted blade, and I have my dog, the California wine and free time to paint.
I am content.
2- She told me, I have known madness, I have known loneliness.
I have loved and I had held hate.
Now I have my garden, the sea nearby.
I paint for the tourist for money, and I have everything I need.
Once I wanted everything, today I have enough.
I have my books, I have dear downtown Monterey near and
I am never lonely. Me and you, we drink coffee and we talk.
I like you, Johnnie. You do not seek more.
You love the sea and you demand nothing from me.
You write poetry about the beautiful artist who paint the beauty of the sea and
I adore how you can see everything with a clear vision.
Let’s go to the sea tonight and burn some sage tonight.
Pray for the world, pray for us to know peace.

I love this line, John:
Once I wanted everything, today I have enough.
And the sentiments of the poem
Be well and do good

Thank you DD. I am an old man now. I do not need much anymore. I still work for the grandchildren.
