Would nice we would take back regret. “If I knew”
If I knew.
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
We learn too late to be quiet. Anger and violence leads only to more pain and sadness.

If I knew.
I would of loved more and said less.Sweet memories slip into my mind of us.
Two people loving and holding tight like it was our last moment.
I remember walking hand in hand with you.
On lonely beaches.
Never more happy.
The sweet times are rare now.
Eyes of youth had faded away with life burdens and losses.
I look into the mirror and see a tire man.
I wish to go back and feel again.
To hunger for sweet kisses and love til the morning light.
Walk down the naked beaches of Monterey coast.
In a mist of silence with a gentle hand in mine.
I didn’t know laughter and dreams would fade away.
If I knew I would of try to stop time.
Hold you like you were my last breath.

The true value of life can only be understood when you almost lost it –I learned this the hard way.

I love these words. So true. And I’m still trying to say less and love more.

Thanks John. I remember my first love and I did take her for granted. We must learn to appreciate love when we have it, when someone sees something inside us that opens their heart to give us love and sweet embrace.

If only one knew how to never take their loved for granted. It seems to just happen, like there’d always be one more hug and one more whispered conversation.

You are right. Youth made us feel invincible. We believe life is forever coming at us. Does slow down. Thank you for reading and the comment. I appreciate.

Remembering death from time to time seems to remind us that we are breakable and heading towards oblivion. You’re welcome.

I tell people. When death comes. It is too late. We need to make the best of every new day.
