One of my favorite “Dreaming of Scotland”

Dreaming of Scotland

A Poem by Coyote Poetry

"

For a sweet woman. I won’t forget.

"

My Scottish Beauty.

My Scottish Beauty.

                       Dreaming of Scotland

She was as pretty as a picture.
Fate had brought her to me at a dark tavern in Germany.
Her raging brown eyes and
auburn hair across gentle and soft shoulders.
Her fragrance of flowers open my senses to her beauty.

Her Scottish accent made me wish to hear her sweet voice.

I was told to be kind to her.
Love was dead to me.
I was infected with rage and hate.

I tried to escape her beautiful face.
Drinking and trying to blind my hunger for happiness.
She found me at the tavern.

She wrapped her arms around me.
Kissed my neck, face and lips.
She whispered “Love is a powerful storm.
Please don’t speak and allow us to love.”

In the mist of softness and opening new doors to joy and bliss.
Sometime you forget to create a safety net to protect  yourself
and your sweet love.

A warm Germany summer allow two people to fall into the mercy
of a sweet love. Swim in the gifts young hearts can understand .

Summer was ending.
My Scotland beauty was going home.

She told me of Scotland.
The beauty of the country and the good people.

I told her.
I wanted her forever.
I talked of marriage.

Love took my hand.
She whispered.
“We had a short time to stay together.
I allow you into my heart. Sometime words don’t mean a lot.
Love never does died. It only falls  asleep till we can open the
door again.”

She went home.
I got lost in the booze and liquor.
Allowed the deserved load of pain to overtake my kindness.
035_35
I still went to the small lake.
And I dream of Scotland.

    1. I was young and she was young. I went back to the USA and she went back to Scotland. A very old story. I post for people to read. Maybe they won’t be a dummy like I was.

      1. Oh, dear, John … You are not the only one. I guess it wasn’t meant to be.
Every one of us made mistake and sometimes SOME mistake is some kind of a blessing, a sign, a lesson, a way of Life – we are all once were young and we know not the right thing to do or to feel, or to think or to decide anything.

I love many times in the past life and never think I could have found anyone as special as my husband today. I was hard, broken, ill-tempered and sometimes I have my own expectations and demands – I know now that I made LOADS of mistakes back then.

And today, those what had been in the past, including mistakes and wrong doings, I take it as life lessons to change me as a better human being today …

I love reading your stories – I take it to heart all of that as my next wisdom. Thank you, John … and I hope you see that you do have impact on others in a positive way as well …. 🙂

      2. I believe the more we read. The more we can understand. This is one reason Dryden is my favorite writer. He wrote with a honest pen.

      4. One of the great English writers. He wrote during the the time of the writers. Ben Jonson and Donne. Many great writers. Last year I read the circle of six. Made me write 500 new poems.

      5. It’s good to know of this all. I know not all writers as of where I come from, we have limited access to the books from around the world. Many books are not available for some reason my country does not have it – at that time in the 70’s & 80’s. After I went abroad to the UK, that is when I got all the chance to go to the library and read some books. But there are like thousands of books that I know I haven’t read yet! 🙂
