_Silence
Silence
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
Many kinds of silence. Some good and some bad.
Old wise saying was “Silence is golden”. I don’t know if the words are true? Tonight old house is quiet. No shuffling of feet and loud voices. Children are gone. Old wife must keep me company.
Once my life was too busy. Kid needed lunch and attention for school. Little time to think. Today I miss the voices of laughter and the small morning arguments between the kids. Old ages teaches us. The father and daughter dances are the best days in a life. Hours spend at the bus waiting with your precious child is not too long. Today old photos and new silence is what I have left.
I learn too late. I loved awakening with my children. Hearing them talk of their days and their dear laughter. The days of McDonald kid meals and waiting in the parks till their unlimited energy was wore away.
Once I wished for silence. Today I love when kids are close. Today I love to see them and tell them. You gave me reason and purpose my children. Thank you.

This resonates so much with me right now. Lately, with life being so full, I have been yearning for that quiet yet knowing that when they are gone and living their lives it will be too quiet for me.

As I watch my teenager growing up…I think of the days ahead when the house will be quiet…I try very hard to cherish each moment…they go by so fast…
Nice memories…good song too…

I agree. Sometime the noice comes back.I’m lucky. Daughters need Grandpa to babysit. Thank you for reading and the comment.
