Hanging with George Thorogood and a poem. I drink alone..
Once in Bosnia, A beautiful Gypsy lady told me. Love isn’t your strength. You are cold hearted bastard and you will die alone if you don’t learn. You don’t walk alone.
Now I am a old man and I know. You decide if you die alone or with love near. The gods of life took me to the proper place and I learn. We are what we leave behind.
Now the old man swim in things lost and gains. Once a man who wanted everything, now a man who learned. He was given enough.
Tonight I drink alone and I miss no-one. Maybe I reached my final destination. I have learn. We are what we leave behind. I have love near and I know. I need my grandchildren voices, I need. Maybe dead man had learn. Life was more than him.
I am drinking alone and I pray I can overcome my sins, my greed. I ain’t dead yet and I will stand-up and be wiser and stronger. I have learned life is hard and we must become harder.
Lord of life and death. I need one more day. Maybe I will be kinder, maybe I will know what love is?

Yes, I am. Six grandchildren and retired. I am just writing and reading now. I wrote a depress poem because of George Thorogood song. I was a soldier once. I raised some cane and on a lonely Sunday night. Dear Joan, I want go dancing and howl at the moon still. Thank you for reading and the comment.

Ah yes, I know the feeling! It is frustrating having the body not do what the mind and heart can! I guess I’ll dance and howl old-lady style. Now I get the old saying, Still waters run deep!

Woman can howl. Sometimes louder dear Joan. I do take the grandchildren to Lake St. Clair and we dance with the lake. Good morning from Michigan.

First song I ever heard from George Thorogood, was One Scotch One Bourbon… One of my old man’s friends were singing it while the grown folk were drinking. Loved his style every since. I was only like 6 or 7. But some memories stick with you.

I have like George Thorogood for many years. His music, my music. When men had fun. We sang, we drank and we howled at the moon. Thank you Nigel for reading and the comment.

People don’t hang out like that anymore. Or maybe I’m just getting long in the tooth to realize if they do. Lol. But those were the good days. Happy to read your poetry and your content John. They’re insightful, and adds more spark to my creative process.

One of my favourite George Thorogood songs, despite not having drank for over 30 years.

I don’t drink too much. I need George Thorogood and Hank Williams Jr. on a lonely night. Thank you for reading and the comment. I hope you are enjoying the days of Spring.

Yes, we are finally getting Spring and will get some rain tomorrow so that should begin to settle dust and green things up.
Move it on Over is another song I love to listen to, whether it is Hank Sr. or George Thorogood. I grew up listening Hank Sr., so he is my go to over Hank Jr.

I was station in Texas. I saw Hank William Jr. three times in Austin in the nineties. He played for four hours. I would like to see George sing. He is still going strong.

We have seen George Thorogood about 6 times in great venues and he is wonderful. I cannot remember the last time Hank Williams Jr. came to Edmonton. It might be in the 80’s or 90’s. I enjoy his music and loved the duet he did with his dad: There’s a Tear in My Beer. At the time, that was a ground-breaking video in terms of combining the current and old film.
