Another time, another place. With an amazing song.
Another time, another place.
(April is poetry month. New poetry number twenty-three.)
We found each other in the darkest bars and we slowed dance and kissed.
I adored you and you needed me. We knew we were Spring and Winter.
Never to touch in the daylight.
I told you often. Another time, another place.
I would steal you away from this ugly world we live in.
I would make you smile and keep you content.
Now all we have is midnight kisses, cheap motels and fake dreams.
We knew. Love turned cold, love turned into a prison.
She asked me. Can we escape and know happiness?
I kissed her once and I kissed her twice.
I told her. Maybe we can in a sweet dream, maybe in another lifetime.
In another time, in another place. I would steal you away and
teach you love can win.
